WAI Southern Wings July Chapter Meeting

Painting With A Twist!
Join us for a private paint event on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 5pm-7pm. In honor of Women’s History Month, we’ll be painting Rosie the Riveter, a World War II icon and symbol of American feminism. Our host will help us with paint options to customize hair, skin, eye colors to bring Rosie to life!

○ Membership Committee
- Responsible for creating and implementing a membership plan to include conducting at least one annual membership recruitment activity. Recruit and engage members, helping them to connect and experience the benefits of being a WAI member.
- Maintains the chapter roster. Initiate annual membership renewal process and communications.
○ Outreach Committee
- Responsible for managing community outreach efforts for the Chapter. Organize at least 1 annual outreach project.
- Works cohesively with membership to develop efforts to ensure overall coordination of all Chapter outreach to connect our Chapter Mission of promoting and advancing women in Aviation with local Savannah partners.
○ Girls In Aviation Day Committee
- Provide girls of all ages and different backgrounds (elementary, middle, and high school students) the opportunity to maximize their curiosity and learn about different career fields in the aviation industry in an encouraging and fun environment. Introduce them to positive female role models within the Southern Wings Chapter to inspire and showcase the aviation industry.

February Chapter Meeting Highlight
We would like to send a special thank you to Mrs. Terry Grant-Robinson, an Aerospace Engineering Instructor with the Jasper County School District, and her students for attending our monthly Southern Wings Chapter meeting held that was held on February 09, 2023. We enjoyed learning about the career and technology education programs being offered in the Jasper County School District. In exchange, we were able to give them a little insight into what a typical work day is like for us in our career fields and what our primary responsibilities are in relation to the Aerospace industry.
